Iceland’s Hidden Secret… shh
Where to Start
1. Pick a date!
The first thing to do is pick a date or a general timeframe of when you want to elope in Iceland! The most popular time for tourists to visit is during the summer months. Although to avoid crowds you should consider going right before or right after the popular months.
If you visit between October-March then you can even hike through an ice cave and have a better chance of seeing the northern lights.
2. Hire your Photographer
Once you have a timeframe in mind, start researching photographers. You do not need to choose a photographer that has been to Iceland although I think it helps if you can find one that matches your style. When looking for a photographer, choose someone that you think you can vibe with and shares what your vision is for your day and can help make it a reality. They are likely the only other person with you for your whole elopement day and experience so choose someone that you get along with and has the style of photography you like.
3. Start planning your adventure elopement
Now that you hired your photographer and picked a date it is time to start planning! Unlike planning a traditional wedding, elopement planning is finding all of the amazing things you can do on your big day! The reason you chose to elope is to make the day our own and fill it with doing all of your favorite things or trying something new!

About Nick Patton
Iceland is by far my favorite country that I have ever visited. The wild and unpredictable weather along with the vast variety of landscapes makes you feel like you’re on another planet.
I help couples throughout their entire elopement experience. From helping them plan where they are going to go, to what they do on their elopement day and how to make it all happen. I am here for you. Your day is just as special to me as it is to you and I am here to help you through it all.
My goal with each couple is to give them a unique and unforgettable experience that is 100% tailored to them. I want each of my couples to feel the joys of running off with their partner to share vows in epic landscapes. To watch a couple commit their lives to one another in front of a waterfall, on a cliff, in the middle of the ocean, at sunrise on a mountain top are one of the most fascinating things I ever get to witness. Marrying them, as an ordained minister, on top of that makes it even more meaningful for all of us.

Which Airport should I fly into?
KEF Airport
When planning your trip to Iceland, the best place to fly into is Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Situated approximately 50 kilometers southwest of Reykjavík, the capital city, Keflavík Airport is the country's main international gateway, welcoming travelers from all around the world. This modern airport offers a wide range of amenities and services, making it convenient for visitors.
From Keflavík, you can easily access the country's stunning natural wonders, such as the Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle, and the mesmerizing waterfalls of the South Coast. From here, you can begin your Icelandic adventure with ease, immersing yourself in the country's captivating landscapes and unique cultural experiences.
How to Get Around/ Traveling in Iceland
# 1. Rent a Car
One of the most popular ways to explore Iceland is by renting a car. This gives you the freedom to drive at your own pace and venture off the beaten path. You'll find several car rental companies at Keflavik International Airport, making it convenient to pick up your vehicle upon arrival. It's important to note that a 4x4 vehicle might be necessary for accessing certain remote areas, especially during winter.
# 2. Plan Your Route
Before embarking on your journey, create an itinerary and plan your route accordingly. Iceland offers an array of incredible attractions, such as the Golden Circle, the iconic Ring Road, and the stunning South Coast. Research these destinations and decide which ones you want to include in your trip. Be sure to allocate enough time for each location to fully appreciate its beauty.
# 3. Take a Guided Tour
If you prefer a more structured and informative experience, joining a guided tour might be ideal. Numerous tour operators provide comprehensive packages tailored to different preferences and interests. Whether you're interested in hiking, ice climbing, or exploring ice caves, there's a tour

Iceland’s Hidden Secret..shhh
Did you know you can eat at a viking restaurant?!
You have to visit Ingólfsskáli on your Iceland trip! Less than an hour away from Reykjavik, this hidden gem is a must whenever I have the honor of visiting Iceland. They have a fixed menu with each item just as delicious as the next.
Enjoy drinking mead from a horn, using iron utensils, and do some axe-throwing or archery!
Make reservations far in advance to ensure it fits within your schedule. Have fun!
